Perhaps because of the juxtaposition in time of the UK Parliamentary General Election and the Local Council District/Borough/Parish Elections on 7th May 2015 – an infrequent occurrence in recent times – there has been an unusual level of interest expressed by ordinary men and women of no previous political ambition who, in their disillusionment with career politicians, are giving serious consideration to throwing their hats in the ring.
