NYP: Appeal re New Year’s Eve Assault / Criminal Damage in Whitby
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault on a pub landlord, and a broken window that occurred in Whitby
It happened outside the Board Inn, Church Street, Whitby at around 2.00am on 1st January 2018 when the landlord of the pub was assaulted outside, causing an injury to his mouth which required treatment at Hospital.
The suspect remained violent outside the pub and had to be restrained by a number of customers. During the incident a window was also broken.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, either inside or outside the pub, or has any other information, is asked to call 101, select option 2 and ask for PC984 Belinda Williamson of the Scarborough Investigation Hub.

A 21 year old man was arrested at the scene. He has been released under investigation whilst further enquiries are conducted.
