Dear Mrs Dixon,
I watched the extraordinary meeting of Scarborough Borough Council on Monday June 26th 2017 looking forward to the debate surrounding the motion submitted by Councillors Cross and Dodds:
To register a recorded vote for or against a declaration of no confidence in the Leader and incumbent Portfolio Holders of his Cabinet
As is normal with a debate in council, Standing Orders were suspended to allow debate of the motion. This took place in the webcast at 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
Watching the rest of the webcast I noticed that Standing Orders were never re-instated to allow a vote on the motion.
I presume this means the vote that took place wasn’t legal and Cllr Cross’ motion is still to be voted upon.
I have, therefore, no confidence in the Mayor’s competency to conduct a council meeting.
Please could you let me know when the legal vote will take place?
Kind regards,
Tim Thorne
