Emergency PPE Production – Scarborough

April 12, 2020 Misc
JOHN SENIOR MBE TD DR(Hc) sends the following PRESS RELEASE . . .
Helping to Hold the Line

Local South Bay Trader John Wallis is a coordinating  the production of emergency PPE face masks from his seafront business and deliveries are already reaching Scarborough Hospital and local care homes.

Scheme Coordinator (Major) Tony Viney thanked the SBTA and other local businesses for their support:
“We now have enough material to make about 3000 of these lightweight masks for our heroes fighting COVID-19 across the borough. The first batch of 300 have  already been delivered to Scarborough Hospital and are in use . The masks have been designed to be ultra lightweight and allow for the rapid swapping of the screen and the wearing of glasses.  It is our hope to not only support Scarborough Hospital, but also  care homes, hospices across the  borough  If your able to support this initiative then please contact John Wallis or John Senior.”

The simple lightweight design has been developed by John, helped by members of the Hospital ICU team who serve with him on  Scarborough Lifeboat Crew.

John Senior MBE Chairman of the SBTA says:
“This is a fantastic community effort and  just shows what can be achieved with a little  ingenuity and a lot of hard work!  John Wallis and his team are doing a brilliant job supporting those who are risking their lives on the NHS  front line.  We are  aware of larger businesses in the area gearing up for PPE production, but for moment we are helping to hold the line until relieved! …Acorns to Oaks!”

Thanks for you support and remember, please stay Home and stay safe!  💙💙💙

Best regards

John S
