NYP: Appeal re York Child Assault

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault against a child that occurred in York city centre.

It happened on the corner of St Leonards Place and Museum Street, York at around 11:20am on Saturday the 9th of July 2016 and involved an assault against a small female child and was followed by an incident of disorder between two adult males.

An arrest of an adult male has been made and he has been bailed pending further enquiries.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the assault and the following disorder.
