Another Vacancy at WTC

  • – an “In My View” article by NIGEL WARD, reporting on a fifth resignation from Whitby Town Council in as many months. This follows last October’s Town/Parish Poll at which 75.5% of voting electors called upon all members to resign en masse.

~~~~~
Following the resignations of former-Councillor Noreen WILSON, former-Councillor Asa JONES (the former Labour stalwart who lost his deposit as the Social Justice Party candidate for the Scarborough & Whitby constituency in the General Election), former-Councillor Hero SUMNER (whose campaign ousted the much-despised Yorkshire Coast BID ‘stealth’ tax) and Mr Michael KING, outgoing Town Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer (whose Annual Accounts for 2022/23 were recently slated by the Council’s External Auditor, PKF LITTLEJOHN LLP, for having presented 3 out of 9 false AGS Assertions), I can now confirm the resignation today of former-Councillor Glenn GOODBERRY – only recently appointed as Chair of the Human Resources Committee, where dark clouds are gathering.
Whitby through-and-through, Glenn will be remembered as the popular Station Mechanic at the Whitby RNLI Lifeboat Station.
The Enquirer wishes Glenn all the very best in his future endeavours.
Glenn’s departure signals another Casual Vacancy in Stakesby Ward.
