A Letter to the Editor from Lily Anna WOOLONS and Sarah Louise HARDWICK of Scarborough, appealing for support for their fund-raising venture.
~~~~~
Dear Mr Editor,
Our names are Lily Anna Woollons and Sarah Louise Hardwick. Two aspiring artists from the local area who are holding an event to raise money for an excellent cause.
We are writing to you to ask for help to promote the event we are holding at the Old Parcel Office on Scarborough station.
The event is to raise money for the Legs for Angel appeal. The appeal is promoted by Yorkshire Coast Radio and the station put out a request for help to raise money on behalf of Angel.
Angel is a little girl who is only six years old, and has had to have one of her legs amputated, and may have to have the other amputated later this year.
She is an ordinary little girl who can’t quite live an ordinary life. So we are helping to raise money to help pay for some specially made prosthetic legs, that sadly aren’t available through the NHS.
The event we are holding is at the Old Parcel Office on platform one of Scarborough Railway Station. It’s an exhibition of our work which we think is amazing and we think the public will too.
We have cakes and cool drinks available as an added bonus, but we suggest a donation for these and all money goes to the appeal.
The event is being held on Friday 11th July to Sunday 13th July and is open from ten every morning until 4pm. The location is the Old Parcel Office on Scarborough Railway Station and can be accessed via the station car park or from platform one. The venue is provided to us free of charge with the kind and wonderful support of Scarborough Studios Ltd.
We would love to see people here at our event in support of such a great cause.
Thank you for your help.
Regards, etc
Sarah and Lily.
