Appeal re Scarborough street Assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered cuts and bruises during an assault.

It happened on Morgan Street, Scarborough, at around 6.45am yesterday.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was setting off for work when he was approached by a man in dark clothing.

The suspect, who is around 6ft tall, assaulted him and fled in the direction of Gladstone Road.

Police have launched an investigation and are reassuring the public that they believe it is an isolated incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Jeremy Dean.
