Comrades In Alms

You wouldn’t think the likes of Phil Trumper (Whitby West) of the Conservative Party (Net Zero, Mass Immigration, High Taxes, Large State) and Tony Randerson (Eastfield) of the Social Justice Party (Net Zero, Mass Immigration, High Taxes, Large State) have much in common, but they are indeed Comrades In Alms.

Every Councillor at North Yorkshire Council has a locality budget of £10,000 per annum. The council states:

Each councillor has a budget of £10,000 per year to allow them to respond to local needs by recommending the allocation of small amounts of funding to support specific activities.

These activities promote the social, economic, or environmental wellbeing of the communities they represent. Funding can be used for projects or undertaken by external organisations or for additional services provided by the council.

It is not a grants programme and each councillor is responsible for determining how they wish to promote and use the budget.

Lets see how our Comrades In Alms get along with distributing these monies within their respective divisions, shall we?

First up is Phil Trumper from the Net Zero, Mass Immigration, High Tax, Large State Party with the blue badge (Conservative Party). Phil gave the Scarborough Sea Cadets £1,000 for a new “assessable” toilet and bathroom. Is this one of those new fandangled crappers that measures the content of turds? Perhaps Phil meant accessible? I’m not quite clear what benefit a disabled shower and bog 20 miles away from folks in the Whitby West division is, perhaps Cllr Trumper could elucidate further?

Were there not causes in Whitby West division worthy of that £1,000?

Perhaps if Phil had donated that £1,000 to a cause in Whitby West he may have gotten the Clerk’s job at Whitby Town Council? It seems they were able to assess his suitability as a candidate.

Second up is Tony Randerson from the Net Zero, Mass Immigration, High Tax, Large State Party with the red/green badge (Social Justice Party). I suspect the colours of their rosettes will appeal greatly to all those who take up the Palestinian cause. Anyway, Tony gave the Scarborough Sea Cadets £1,000 for a new accessible toilet and bathroom. I guess the £1,300 Tony gave the Eastfield Literacy Project has paid dividends. Perhaps Cllr Trumper should attend! Again, I’m not quite clear what benefit a disabled shower and toilet 5 miles away from folks in the Eastfield division is, perhaps Cllr Randerson could inform us?

Were there not causes in the much deprived Eastfield division worthy of that £1,000?

A quick search for UK Scarborough Sea Cadets and donations from North Yorkshire Councillors was not very revealing. All I could find is what appeared to be the South African Scarborough Sea Cadets.
