Resigned ERYC Paedophile Councillor Jailed
Readers may recall an article by Guest Author Andy STRANGEWAY, who is an Independent Councillor at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, entitled “ERYC: Con ex-Councillor Charged With Sex Offences”, published on 30th August 2016.
Thanks are due to a reader who has kindly up-dated the Enquirer on the outcome of former ERYC Conservative Councillor Arthur HODGSON’s trial, covered in a Hull Daily Mail article dated 17th June 2017.
In brief, Arthur HODGSON faced multiple charges of sexual offences with minors, including girls of 11 and 12, and was found guilty on three counts.
Judge David TREMBERG, sentencing HODGSON to twenty-seven months imprisonment, told him:
“The court has seen and heard not one hint of acceptance, contrition, insight or remorse. In my judgement, no sentence other than immediate custody is appropriate to deal with matters of this seriousness.”
In addition to his custodial sentence, HODGSON, of Church Lane, Keyingham, must register as a sex offender for ten years.
