Back in the summer of 2014 we ran an article which stated that North Yorkshire Police (NYP) had received a complaint that relates to alleged criminal misconduct by officers of North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and that North Yorkshire Police were investigating the matter.
A recent enquiry revealed that North Yorkshire Police are still investigating the matter.
The start of 2015 means that the saga has rumbled on into its fifth calendar year. The wheels of justice appear to turn very slowly when local authorities are investigated for criminal misconduct, if indeed they are turning at all.
The Police investigation concerns matters that were raised during Executive Committee meetings of NYCC on Tuesday 29th November 2011 and Tuesday 3rd July 2012.
The North Yorks Enquirer reported on the matter twice in 2014. NYCC: Out Of Control? was published following a request for information from NYCC and NYCC Officers Under Investigation by North Yorkshire Police? published after information was received from the Police that an investigation was under way.
