Before The Flood: PARNABY/MENZIES Under Beeb Scrutiny

Readers who have followed East Riding of Yorkshire Council firebrand anti-corruption campaigner Councillor Andy STRANGEWAY [Ind.], who, together with the Enquirer, has shone a spotlight on ERYC Leader Councillor Stephen PARNABY [Con.] and his Director of Planning & Regeneration, Mr Alan MENZIES, may have missed BBC Look North’s coverage of the proposals to sell the 16th-hole to Bridlington Golf Club at a price alleged to be around two-thirds of its true market value – £1.65 million versus £2.25 million. Astonishingly, ERYC claims that this represents “best value”.

Cui bono?

Look North, pursuant to a diligent investigation by Chartered Surveyor Bruce COLLINSON, brings to a wider audience what promises to be the overture to a wider scrutiny of the PARNABY/MENZIES Planning regime at ERYC.

Judging by Mr MENZIES’ body-language, any further scrutiny will be far from welcome.
