ANDREW ELLIS [LibDem]: “Scrapping The Council Tax”

May 5, 2015 Letters

A Letter to the Editor from Andrew ELLIS of Scarborough (who is contesting the Falsgrave ward of the Scarborough Borough Council local elections for the LibDems), introducing himself to the Borough electorate.

~~~~~
Dear Mr Editor,
My name is Andrew Ellis. I just wanted to write and thank voters for the tremendous response I have received whilst campaigning in Falsgrave ward.
I have been overwhelmed by all the kind messages of thanks for the work I have done locally in the last 10 years.
Many residents that I have met say it is time for a change. I am seeking election because I want Falsgrave Ward to have a councillor that puts local residents first. I believe being a councillor is not telling people what is good for them; it’s about listening to them, finding out their needs and doing all I can to help.
With your help, I will continue campaigning for better public services, safer and cleaner streets, better care for the elderly, more facilities for our young people and scrapping the Council Tax.
I have worked with Cllr Johan Zegstroo and Michael Beckett, your Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate, on many things for our area over the years and will continue campaigning for:
  • better public services,
  • safer and cleaner streets,
  • better care for the elderly,
  • more facilities for our young people,
  • more ‘Bobbies’ on the beat,
  • more affordable homes for local people,
  • and against the ‘Bedroom Tax’, which hits those on fixed or low incomes.
Liberal Democrats are the only major political party with fully costed and checked environmental policies. Liberal Democrats want a Safer, Cleaner and Greener future for Scarborough.
Your vote is vital on Thursday May 7th, as it will help me to continue to campaign and work on your behalf.
With best wishes, and thanks
Andy
Andrew ELLIS, Scarborough. 5th May, 2015.
