Appeal re Knifepoint Attempted Robbery of Disabled Man

Police are appealing for information after a would-be robber ordered a 47-year-old disabled man to give him money.

It happened at the bus stop outside Scarborough railway station at 9.05am on Tuesday, 1 May 2018.

The victim was approached by a man who asked for money.

When the victim refused, the suspect produced a knife.

The suspect left the scene empty handed after been deterred by a woman who was passing.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for information about the suspect, who is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark jumper and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Police would also like to speak to a woman who assisted the victim and stayed with him on the bus. Unfortunately the victim did not get her details at the time of the incident but she may have important information that could help the investigation.
