Tories Lose Control Of SBC

The Scarborough & Whitby Conservative Party have lost their majority on Scarborough Borough Council.

Councillor Michelle Donohue-Moncrieff, one of the two Tories representing Hertford ward, has gone Independent. This leaves the Tories with 25 of 50 councillors on the council. The Tories will require the mayor’s casting vote to get anything through a council meeting, assuming all councillors attend.
