Potto: Request for Dissolution
- – an “In My View” article by NIGEL WARD, reporting on a very significant recent development at struggling Potto Parish Council. At a meeting of the Standards & Governance Committee of North Yorkshire Council, held on 20 June 2025, it was Resolved (Minute Item 137) to carry out a Community Governance Review (CGR) for Potto.

I have today had sight of an email from NYC that states (see excerpt below):
- “Potto Parish Council requested a CGR to dissolve the parish council and replace with a parish meeting.”
I understand this CGR will involve a detailed consultation with Potto’s residents and the whole process should be completed within 12 months.
It would appear that after more than 30 unchallenged articles vivisecting the incompetence and general mismanagement of arguably the worst Council in the Country, unelected Chair, Councillor Andrew WILDE, has finally thrown in the towel.
