North Yorkshire Police have confirmed a complaint that relates to alleged criminal misconduct by Officers of North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) has been received and an investigation is underway. A police spokesman said:
“We can confirm North Yorkshire Police have received a complaint that relates to North Yorkshire County Council and officers are currently reviewing the allegations that have been made. Until a full review has been completed it would inappropriate to make further comment about this matter”.
The Police investigation concerns matters that were raised during Executive Committee meetings of North Yorkshire County Council on Tuesday 29th November 2011 and Tuesday 3rd July 2012.
The North Yorks Enquirer reported on the matter last year in article entitled NYCC: Out Of Control?. The matter was the subject of another article a couple of weeks ago NYCC Officers Under Investigation by North Yorkshire Police? following a request for information from North Yorkshire County Council.
The Police statement was sent in response to the following email:
“Hello,
I’ve been in contact with North Yorkshire County Council about the possible prosecution of Council Officers for unnamed offences. They stem from North Yorkshire Trading Standards and Senior NYCC Officer’s apparent harassment of a used car dealership in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire. The Council has indicated the matter has been passed yourselves for investigation and there have been possible arrests. The documentation I’ve seen so far is in the URLs below.
Does North Yorkshire Police have any comments on the matter at this time?
Kind regards,
Tim Thorne
